Dr. G. S. Garg is a highly respected surgical expert with over 36 years of extensive experience. Currently he is Head of the Department of Surgery at Shanti Mukand Hospital & Associated with SMH since 1995. In this role, he oversees a diverse range of surgical procedures, including minimally invasive surgeries such as Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy, along with more complex surgeries involving the abdomen, uro-genital system, and thoracic region. Dr. Garg is also deeply committed to education, delivering lectures to DNB students and training nursing and paramedical staff.
Before his current position, Dr. Garg worked as a Consultant Surgeon at several prominent hospitals
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Garg is deeply involved in academic and charitable initiatives. He serves as a faculty member for the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) Training Program and coordinates various academic activities at Shanti Mukand Hospital. He also organizes health camps, conducts public health lectures, and serves as the editor of the Quarterly News Bulletin of Shanti Mukand Hospital. Dr. Garg’s dedication to advancing surgical practices is evident in his active participation in national conferences, workshops, and CMEs. He has attended and chaired sessions at prestigious events such as "Minimal Access Surgery - 2005 & Beyond" and "Live Workshop - Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS)." Additionally, he has contributed to medical research, including a comprehensive study on routine cholecystectomy under the guidance of respected faculty members. His ongoing commitment to improving surgical techniques and patient care has earned him a stellar reputation in the medical community.
